Large business or small business, branding is one of the most important aspects of any business. It’s not just a logo, it’s EVERYTHING to do with your business. Colours, typography, fonts, patterns, textures, imagery, business materials, how you deal with clients, advertising methods and more... The list does literally go on and on. Your brand should represent who your business is, who your business is aimed at, your business goals, aims, visions, audience, colours, fonts, imagery, communication methods and more, the list goes on... However a branded business will over look an unbranded business any day of the week.
Branding should be one of the first steps a business should focus on. When branding a business you should consider the overall aim of the business and it's goals, aims and intensions as well as creating the correct communications with the correct audience - So there is a lot to consider. Your brand should be injected into every aspect of your business from it's advertisement campaigns, marketing materials, online presence, the way you speak to your clients as a business and the way your products are presented and packaged. Having relevant documents which reflect your brand for your own reference is vital, documents which cover your logo design and documents which cover the branding as a whole (which will include everything mentioned above, and more...)
Branding may be a tricky, confusing procedure for some people however if you was to put your mind to it and do your research, you can achieve a strong, memorable brand with no experience in branding - But you must get it right the first time as altering a brand takes a lot of knowledge!
Creating a strong, memorable brand will not only help you stand out from your competitors but will help people remember you and the service/product your advertising. As well as building strong relationships and trust with the fans of your business, both of which are vital and should be any businesses priority.
Your branding will help YOU and your potential customers feel confident in your business.

It’s all about researching...
Researching similar businesses to yours will help you understand what methods of branding the public are drawn to - obviously don’t be a copy cat, but learn from businesses like your own! You should make a list of what you need to do and check it off as you go...
on your list should be;
1) Your mission.
2) Your aim, vision and audience. (Be precise - you won’t please the whole world.)
3) Your tag line and business name. (If you’ll be setting up a website in the future then ensure your business name is available!)
4) Your voice (How are you going to relay your brands personality through speech)
5) Your colours and fonts.
6) Arrange your business materials.
You may not come up with a perfect brand over night, you may not have your perfect brand for months, but that’s the art of branding, you will eventually discover who you are as a business owner!
